Season 2 Episode 9- Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Hello everyone, thank you for joining us in our 9th episode of the second season. Jake, Mike and Dave talk about The Last Jedi. They had so much fun talking about this episode. They discussed Hyper Space Tracking, because of how important it is to the story line. Jake discussed his thoughts on how jumpy this movie is. We also brought back up the idea that Han was force feeler. We shared more thoughts about Kylo Ren. 

In the  first 7 episodes, fuel was never really brought up but in this movie it was key. We also talked about how do bombs fall in zero gravity space. We asked ourselves if the movie was trying too hard to be funny or did it have the right mix? We discussed Luke's mindset and if it was something we liked or understood why he was thinking that way. So before The Rise of Skywalker came out we shared our thoughts of Rey's Parentage. Were we off base or was it correct?

Season 2 Episode 8- Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Welcome to our talk of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Jacob, Mike and Dave talked about how this movie was one of the best movies ever made in the Star Wars Movie Collection. Dave, misremembered the scroll was not in either Solo or Rogue one. He forgot, so sorry. But besides that misstep we discussed this movie and more back story of how this film fits into the overall story of The Skywalker Saga. 

We discussed the underlings of the political aspect of the empire and being under Emperor Palpatine  and Darth Vader. The underhanded deeds of Tarkin and Krennic. We discussed the ruthlessness of Darth Vader coming to full fruition in the last scene. Jake talked about how this is one of his all time favorite Star Wars Movies. We discussed the CGI with Princess Leia and General Tarkin. So come and check out our latest episode.

Season 2- Episode 7- Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Hello everyone. We hope you have had a good week. We hope you are caught up with the episodes up to this point.

This episode we talked about how The Force Awakens and A New Hope are very similar stories. Dave, again, brought up William Shakespeare Star Wars and how it addressed the similarities of both movies. We address the speed of this movie. Jake and Dave got into it a little at the beginning and show you how they interact when they both think they are right! Mike came in with his calm and relaxing tone and asked Jake questions. We discussed Kylo Ren and how he seemed menacing at first but then he took off the mask you get all of our reactions to the reveal of Kylo Ren. We had a really fun time talking about this movie.

Season 2-Episode 6- Star Wars: The Revenge of the Sith

Hello everyone, we hope you have had a good week and that you were able to catch up with our episodes. We have enjoyed making the first 6 episodes of season 2. We discuss the 6th Episode of the the Skywalker Saga. We discuss the how Hayden Christensen redeemed himself when he screamed to Obi-Won Kenobi that he hates him, such a powerful performance. Dave, teases Jake about how this is the best Star Wars movie ever made. 

We also talk about the inconstancies this brings in to the 4-6 movies. With Obi-Won not knowing who R2-D2 is and other things. We discussed how this movie has the best lightsaber battle in all of the movies. We talked about the rule of two with Darth Plagueis and Darth Sidious. We discuss what Roger Ebert talk about George Lucas's inability to write a love scene. We talk about how Anakin fully embraced the dark side. We share some fan theory of how the Emperor is still alive. We talk a little about how George Lucas expressed his view of the Empire and how our government is a mirror image of the Empire. We discuss the Jedi's inability to feel the dark side of the force.

CNM-Star Wars: The Attack of the Clones

Season 2- Episode 5- Hello everyone thank you for joining us for our discussion of Star Wars: The Attack of the Clones. We discussed how this movie was better than The Phantom Menace. More boring but a better movie than George Lucas's first attempt. 

With this episode, it is a little bit shorter because of some technical difficulties we had with the recording process. We discuss the hokey love story that George Lucas can't seem ever to get right. We discussed more about the Fan theory of Jar Jar Binks and how the government seems to be more and more evil in this movie. We hope you enjoyed our discussion of Star Wars: The Attack of the Clones. CNM-Star Wars: The Phantom Menace

Season 2 Episode 4- Star Wars: The Phantom Menace 

Welcome to our 4th episode of the season. We are beginning to break down the prequels that open so many plot holes in the 4-6. A thing Jacob has always said is "You only see bad CGI." We shared how this CGI has not aged well at all. With George Lucas taking the directors chair for this first movie, Jake reiterated "George doesn't understand his story." Which we couldn't argue against because some of the plot holes this movie created. 

We talked fan fiction of Jar Jar Binks of being the overall Sith Lord that he is. We talked how he gave the Emperor the power and if we follow the logic of Aladdin with the Genie of giving Jafar all the power, the Emperor is always second best. We also talked about if George correctly casted this first movie. Did he get it right with casting Anakin as a 9 year old or should he have casted Hayden Christensen from the beginning and mirrored Luke's story? We also talked about how Micheal Jackson lobbied hard to play Jar Jar in prosthetics which would have been a bit better.

CNM-Star Wars: The Return of the Jedi

Season 2-Episode 3- Welcome to our third episode of season 2, Star Wars: The Return of the Jedi. we shared the normal things, Jacob did the synopsis, Dave did the top 10 and Mike did the money. 

We discussed George Lucas bringing in the Ewoks and in order to like them you had to be a kid for the most part but when you really think about the Ewoks you understand they were pretty blood thirsty. We talked about George's first choice in directing. How he started ILM. We discussed how George Lucas and Jerry Jones (the owner of the Cowboys) are similar. 

We also discussed how Harrison Ford wanted Han Solo to be killed off in this movie. We talked about his trajectory and how it could have made sense  and how it didn't make sense if they would have killed him off. We expressed our frustrations about script inconsistencies. We also discussed the background blanket we have hanging for a back drop!

CNM- Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back

Season 2- Episode 2- Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back. Welcome to our second episode of the season. We had a lot of fun making this episode. We discuss the all important question of what Darth Vader really said, is it "Luke, I am your father!" Or is it something else? We discuss the movies in the top 10, we also talked about how George Lucas doesn't understand the story but gave it to someone else to help with this most pivotal movie of the series. We talked about the religious undertones of the movie. We discussed how George paid for the movie. 

This is the best movie out of the Skywalker Saga. It helped expand the universe to make it what it is today. You don't have a good feeling about things because of how the Darth Vader is obsessed with getting Luke Skywalker. You learn more about the force. You meet the Emperor for the first time. There are a lot of the most iconic lines in this movie. "I thought they smelled bad on the outside", "Luke, I am your father.", "I know.", "Do or Do not there is no try.", "This deal is getting worse every time.", "Laugh it up fuzzball." "You scruffy looking nerfherder."

Season 2- Episode 1- We are happy to be back in sharing our podcasts after the long prep period to get ready for this season. We hope as the Skywalker Series comes to an end this year, you are excited as much as we are to be talking about this series. 

With this season we are going to be breaking down how this series got made and how it became popular. It has been so fun to make and talk about.

In this episode we discuss How George Lucas got people to believe in his ability as a director, how he was able to get financial backing to make the film and the setbacks of making this film.
